Toronto in Canada is a city of paradox. This blog shows through provocative opinion posts and unique pictures how this ultramodern town cannot break free from its past of disconnected small villages and how it heralds a new global world in which the social and urban fabric is slowly replaced by a virtual matrix where twitter and facebook are the new forum and agoras, where sex is slowly replaced by porn and where people are less and less alone and more and more lonely.
A former patent attorney and a material engineer from Paris, France, I am now a professional actor and improvisor in Toronto. I graduated in Theatre from
the Conservatory of Strasbourg, studied Clown and Mime with Emmanuel
Vacca and Elena Serra of l’Ecole Marcel Marceau, Method Acting with
Jack Waltzer. I co-founded the company Les Improvisateurs in
Strasbourg and founded the company En Construction in Paris, and
originated the Catch Impro concept which is now wide-spread throughout Europe. Currently I am working with the Extant Jesters, the company I created with Lauren Spring (corporate entertainment, special events, shows for young audience), with Dufflebag Theatre (shows for young audience) and with Anderson&Sabourin Consulting (corporate training). Clearing Customs, the play that I co-wrote with Lauren Spring had it’s premier at Alumnae
Theatre and as part of the Canadian Stage Company’s Festival of Ideas
and Creation. Swine of the Time, my conservatory show, was performed in October 2009 in the Second City mainstage and my sketch troup, Your Favourite Cousin performed for 4 month in the John Candy Box Theatre. The improv show that I produced, Ultimate Improv, has been running for two years at Comedy Bar, The Annex Live, The Tin Cup Sportsgrill, The Trane Studio and The Honest Lawyers. I perform with the Theatre Francais de Toronto (l'Ecole des Femmes directed by Diana Leblanc produced by the TFT at Canstage Berkeley Street Theatre). And I am a trainer with Ryerson University Interpersonal Skills Training Center. I am a member of the UDA and applying to be a member of ACTRA.
